Taking the Grrr Out of Grooming Dogs
16 ACE Credits for Handler Places
The workshop will cover
- Animal Centred Education Free Work (Developed by Sarah Fisher) and how it can help during the grooming process. Attending dogs will have the opportunity to participate in Free Work and attendees will therefore have the opportunity to observe, learn how Free Work can help both the groomer and dog.
- Canine Permission Based Techniques – demonstration, videos, practice session, including Bucket Game, Mat Protocol
- Tellington TTouch Training - The usefulness of TTouch during grooming will be discussed. You will be taught a range of different touches and have the opportunity to practice during the workshop.
- General discussion regarding the use of various equipment used in the grooming environment.
The cost of this workshop includes a copy of Sue’s book “Taking the Grrr out of the Grooming Salon. If you already have a copy please contact Canine Cooperation for a discount.
Refreshments will be provided, but please bring your own lunch.
Dogs are welcome but will need to be comfortably resting in your car or a crate for some of the day. They will also need to be comfortable around people and dogs.
